Biography

Christine Mullen was born in Ottawa, Ontario on April 4th, 1986. She grew up in the urban centre of Canada’s capital and was exposed to art at an early age. In 2000 she attended Canterbury Arts High School where she became fully active with several mediums in visual arts including painting, ceramics, etching and photography. As photography became Christine’s primary interest she was hired as an intern at Ottawa’s entertainment magazine, The Ottawa X-Press. In 2004 Christine began studying photography at Ryerson University and in 2005 she won The Robert S. Gooblar Scholarship for creative potential & technical proficiency as an aspiring artist. In 2008, Christine was the photo editor for Function Magazine as well as the staff photographer for Ryerson’s Faculty of Communication and Design. Christine graduated from Ryerson University in the spring of 2008. She is currently the curator for the 2008 Unity Gala and an intern at Spacing magazine. Christine’s work has been published in numerous publications such as Function Magazine, Spacing Photos, Spacing Magazine, The Globe and Mail, and Ryerson’s Faculty of Communication and Design’s website. Christine is currently living in Dallas, Texas, focusing her time on several documentary projects.
